1. Selection and pretreatment of materials for making pompoms
Material selection is the first key step in making a firm and beautiful pompom. After winding a certain number of turns (depending on the size of the pompom, generally 80-120 turns for a pompom with a diameter of 3-5 cm), carefully remove the pompom from the winding tool, and then use another thread to tightly wrap and knot it in the middle of the pompom. After completing the basic production of pompoms, trimming is the key step to improve the beauty. Use sharp small scissors to finely trim the pompoms. When trimming, use the center of the pompom as the reference and cut off the excess plush around to make the pompom present a round and full shape. During the trimming process, keep turning the pompom and observe from all angles to ensure that the shape of the pompom is symmetrical and the edges are neat.
For the uneven plush on the surface of the pompom, you can gently pick it out and cut it off with the tip of the scissors, and be careful not to cut the internal structure of the pompom. In addition, if you want the pompom to have a better gloss, you can gently brush the surface of the pompom with a clean and soft brush after trimming to make the plush smoother and increase the beauty of the pompom.
4. How to connect the pompom to the tip of the hat
When connecting the pompom to the tip of the Santa Hat, make sure the connection is firm and beautiful. A common method is to sew a round lining cloth that matches the size of the pompom inside the tip of the hat. The material of the lining cloth can be the same or similar to the hat.
